A Sentimental Grandfather’s Musings
I met an old man online once and I never thought he’s older than 65 based on how he talks. He was young at heart and very sentimental. One time he told me a story of how he felt when he said goodbye to his last grandson.
They, his grandchildren, lived with him while in high school, as their parents are abroad or too busy. He told me that he was a very strict disciplinarian, but it turns out, his grandchildren saw through him, as I did.

We started that day with a jog around the park and we both knew it’s the last one in a long time. I felt happy and sad, but relieved that he never got involved with bad elements.
My kids have all grown up. I can still remember years ago when they seemed so carefree. During our talks, all their thoughts revolved around love life, night-outs, independence. I’m so proud of them, they got started right. They did it all by themselves, all I did was inspire them.
